Gnutti Carlo, founded in 1922, started its activity as a small company producing components for agricultural machinery. In the 1950s, the business focused on bicycle movement components and Tapered Roller Bearings. In the 60s, Gnutti Carlo became a niche manufacturer of rail bushes and high performance Tapered Roller Bearings for the international market. In 1985, the business of components for Diesel Heavy Duty engines began. The internationalization process began in 2000 with acquisitions and greenfield that gave birth to the Powertrain Division's production plants in Canada, Sweden, UK, India, USA, and China. In 2014, the diversification process began with the acquisition of the Ljunghäll Group and its factories in Sweden and the Czech Republic, followed in 2015 by the greenfield for the building of Gnutti Carlo Light Metals China and later Light Metals Canada. In 2018, the decision to strengthen our resilience by acquiring the TCG Unitech Group with its four plants in Austria and a Join Venture in China. In 2019, in order to strengthening the market in North America, MS Industries Inc. of Webberville was acquired, becoming Gnutti Carlo Powertrain USA/Michingan.
